LTB EDUCA’S HISTORY
The foundations:
In 1996, Leadership Thru Books registered as a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles. Although our legal name is
Leadership Thru Books, we are using the name LTB Educa as a marketing strategy. In 1998, we established the
Francisco F. León y Julio Roberto Fong Chang Foundation in Guatemala. Such foundation is subsidized by LTB
Educa and was named in after two of the founder’s family members, in honor of their altruistic spirit.

The foundation in Guatemala is located at the Library in Patulul, Suchitepequez, which opened in 1998 and was
given the same name as the foundation. The building is three stories high and has a capacity to hold 150 people. In
the year 2005, new computers were installed for those students attending the facility, in 2006 Internet was installed,
and in 2007 we started offering computer and Internet classes.

The Scholarship Programs:

*In 1992, the scholarships were commenced by founder Pancho León.
Students were  sponsored directly by the founder of the organization.

*In 2002, we implemented the program “Padrino de Becas” LTB EDUCA promotes this outreach program,
identifies and enrolls people who can become sponsors of a child for a minimum of one year.

*In 2005, we implemented the Supporting Education Campaign  in the points of sale of GroupEx and their
    associated companies.

During two months we solicit clients to make a donation of $1.00 to support education in Guatemala.
GroupEx and its associated companies match a percentage of the contributions received.
